GOOD MORNING, OREGON

Today’s newsletter is going to look a little different than normal. As some of you know, I write the Oregon Buzz each week from our home in Bend. As a father of two elementary school-age kids, the recent tragedy at Silver Rail Elementary has left us, and the entire town of Bend, in a state of shock and sadness.

Below you’ll find our regular roundup of news and events from across the state. At the bottom of today’s newsletter, I’ve included a section on how you can support those impacted by the Silver Rail tragedy. Those families have gone through so, so much, and every little bit helps.

🎒 Help support the families at Silver Rail

I want to give a huge shoutout to the Bend community for stepping up and supporting the Silver Rail families and community as a whole this past week.

Seeing businesses open their doors to provide a calming place for community, locals helping out with food drives and collecting donations, and restaurants offering up free meals and childcare for Bend’s kids has been heartwarming and provides a glimmer of hope in an otherwise dark hour.

If you’d like to donate to the families impacted by this tragedy, here are a few links to active fundraisers.

Thanks, everyone! If you’d ever like to send over an idea, correction, or just want to say hi, feel free to hit reply to this email.
